SOLUTIONS FOR THERMAL BREAKS IN ALUMINUM WINDOWS WITH NORYL GTX ™ RESIN
Windows provide light, fresh air and a view to our great outdoors, but they can be a major source of cooling loss in the summer and heat loss in the winter. Increasingly stringent environmental standards demand that high insulating aluminum frames meet the requirements for energy efficient buildings.
NORYL GTX™ resin exhibits low thermal conductivity which may enable reduced heat transfer coefficient of the frame and offer design flexibility by reducing installation depth for high insulating thermal breaks in aluminum windows .
NORYL GTX 8110 P / GTX 8120 P resins are modified PPE alloys containing 10 % or 20 % glass fibers. NORYL GTX resins combine the strength of amorphous polyphenylene ether and semi crystalline polyamide.

Inherently, amorphous plastics show a lower thermal conductivity than semicrystalline plastics. NORYL GTX resin shows around 30% lower thermal conductivity than nylon. The thermal conductivity of NORYL GTX resin can be further reduced by the use of certain extrusion technologies such as those patented by Joma Polytec GmbH.
